Dr. Shailender Madani is double-board certified in pediatric gastroenterology and pediatrics and has been in practice in the Metro Detroit area since 1998. He is affiliated with The Detroit Medical Center and has privileges at Childrens Hospital of Michigan and Hutzel Hospital. He received his medical degree from Osmania Medical College in India, did his pediatric residency training and pediatric gastroenterology fellowship training at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. He has been in practice for more than 30 years. Dr. S. Madani has received awards and honors over the years to include: WSU Medical School Teaching Award in Pediatrics, Metro Parent Mom-Approved DOC, Top Docs HOUR magazine for many years, Spirit of Detroit Award by the City Council of Detroit (In recognition of exceptional achievement, outstanding leadership, & dedication to improving quality of life), Recognition for mentoring Resident research by the CHM Pediatric Residency Program, Recipient of “S.V. Rao & M.M. Swamy” gold medal award for best thesis during residency training at the Institute of Child Health, Niloufer Hospital in India. Dr. S. Madani can speak multiple foreign languages including: Hindi, Telugu and Urdu. Dr. S. Madani accepts several health insurance plans.
Dr. S. Madani has participated in research and scholarly activities including text book chapter contribution on different GI conditions. He is a member of the North American Society For Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and is a life member of Indian Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. S. Madani has been married for 35 years, has two sons, a grandchild and enjoys reading, karaoke singing, and watching football, basketball and soccer with his family. He pursues self-realization through meditation and yoga.
